Do you truly forgive those who hurt you?

Do you truly forgive those who hurt you?

How do you truly forgive those who intentionally keep hurting you?
How do you end the hurting and start the healing?
What do you do?

When someone hurts me, I tell them how they hurt me and how it made me feel. I pray daily to truely forgive those who hurt me. Sometimes I have to call on the lord for assistance because the hurt is so bad.

In Matthew 6:14 Jesus says:
“If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.

You should forgive those who hurt you because the Lord forgave you.

That's true me, for in Colossians 3:13, it states -- 13 Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. 14 Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. 15 And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.

All to often, people say they forgive, but it really doesn't seem to be the case. If you look at anyone you know, they will always bring up things and people they "hate" "can'tstand" etc.,
Why is this if they really do forgive?

Ken,
I know so many elder Christians, who are supposed to be mentoring me, but they seem to be less of a “Christ Jesus” walking person then I am.

I really wish that their pastors, ministers, reverends and elders would teach on forgiveness. People are Hippocrates about this issue.

As I drive through this great country, I noticed so many drivers with road rage. It’s a shame that some of those drivers are from my church. Yes, even leadership.

I pray that God has Mercy on us. I pray we get things right before it’s too late.

When I said I accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior, I said I would change and be a better person. I said I would do my upmost to walk in the footsteps of Jesus. You know, the old me was dead and the new me to walk in the way of our lord.

Am I wrong in believing this? What can be done?

Young Christian,
The truth is that so many of us need to be baby Christians again. They need to revive their veal for the Lord our God.

They need to remember that God gave the ultimate sacrifice for us; because he loves us so.

We do need to forgive all trespasses against us, because it’s the right thing to do.
God forgave us didn’t he?
Are we better then God?

I don’t want to answer to our Lord as to why I thought I was better then his word.

Please keep the faith, God knows your name. He is a just God.

A word for thought,

1 John 1:8
“If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.”

If people say that they have forgiven others for their sins, then why hasn't it happened yet? Jesus forgave us...so why can't we do the same thing?

People say that they have no sins. Is that so...? I'm sure that it's rare when there's someone who haven't had one single sin.

To answer the question, I have a hard time forgiving someone who hurt me. I'd like to think I forgave them, but if something triggers the hurt again.. then it will be on my mind and here comes the same hurtful feelings.. it's definitely something I need to work on.

This is a word for those of you who wonder about forgiveness.

Please remember that Christ Jesus took your sin and ours too. It is important to turn away from temptation and keep your eyes on our savior Christ Jesus. If someone tells you that you hurt them, apologize and make what ever change you need to so correction and non reoccurrence is accomplished.

Remember, never say anything to intentionally hurt another; it displeases our lord to do so.

Always treat others the way you would like to be treated. Better yet, how would you act if Jesus was with you? Again, remember; He is right next to you all the time.

Colossians 1:21-23

21 This includes you who were once far away from God. You were his enemies, separated from him by your evil thoughts and actions. 22 Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault. 23 But you must continue to believe this truth and stand firmly in it. Don’t drift away from the assurance you received when you heard the Good News.

MUST READ!!!

After you read this comment (verse), Please let me know your feelings.

Colossians 3:11-17

11 In this new life, it doesn’t matter if you are a Jew or a Gentile,* circumcised or uncircumcised, barbaric, uncivilized,* slave, or free. Christ is all that matters, and he lives in all of us. 12 Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. 13 Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. 14 Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. 15 And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful. 16 Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. 17 And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.

I have been falsely accused a few times. Some of my closest friends know this, yet never speak on my behalf.

It’s hard on me knowing how I am always one of the first to stand up and speak the truth. I have realized that my one true friend is the lord.

I pray that people start to look inside themselves and realize that it is ok to stand for what is right and to protect their brothers and sisters from false accusations.

I thank the lord my God who strengthens me in these days of disbelief. I thank him for calling me to do his will, and I thank him for being my one true friend.
I forgive all those who call themselves my friend and fail to do what is right, I forgive all those who don’t know me yet find time to falsely accuse me, I forgive my pastor and his staff and I forgive myself for letting this bother me in the past.

I give Praise to the Lord my GOD.
